PAIA Manual

PointMe's manual under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, including how to request records.

Last updated 1 August 2026Effective 1 August 2026Version v1.0

1. Purpose of this Manual

This PAIA Manual is prepared for PointMe in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA), as amended, and is aligned with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). It explains the categories of information and records that PointMe may hold, the procedures for requesting access to records, and the personal-information processing practices relevant to customers, service providers, provider staff, admin users and other stakeholders.

2. PointMe company and contact details

PointMe is a digital marketplace and service-provider business platform operating primarily in South Africa. The PAIA and privacy contact is hello@pointme.services. Registered-entity details, VAT information, physical address and Information Officer details must be inserted after final corporate and legal confirmation.

3. Information Officer and Deputy Information Officer

PointMe must designate an Information Officer and, where appropriate, one or more Deputy Information Officers. The Information Officer is responsible for PAIA request handling, POPIA compliance coordination, data-subject rights requests, privacy notices, request registers, regulator correspondence and internal compliance controls.

4. Guide on how to use PAIA

Requesters should consult the current Information Regulator PAIA Guide, prescribed request forms and complaint forms before submitting a request. Information Regulator contact details may change and should be verified on the Information Regulator website.

5. Legal framework and availability of records

PAIA provides a process to request records held by public and private bodies. Certain records may be public, available to registered users through secure account access, or require a formal PAIA or POPIA request. Access may be restricted where the law permits or requires this.

6. Records held by PointMe

PointMe may hold corporate, customer, provider, staff, booking, quote, payment, wallet, promotion, messaging, review, verification, inventory, AI, support, marketing, security and supplier records, subject to the platform features enabled at the relevant time.

7. How requests are handled

Requests are logged, identity-verified and routed to the Information Officer. Requesters should receive a reference number and status updates. Some records must be retained for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons even where deletion is requested.
